YUMA, AZ — In a continuing effort to provide the latest wireless products and services at convenient, accessible locations, Verizon Wireless has opened its first communications store in Yuma, Arizona. Located at 1418 S. Yuma Palms Parkway, Ste. 7 in the Yuma Palms Regional Center, local residents can now explore voice and data solutions in a new spacious environment in their own community.

"During the last four years we have invested more than $285 million in our wireless network in Arizona, enhancing its reach and its voice and data capabilities," said Tami Erwin, regional president, Verizon Wireless. "This effort, combined with the opening of our latest new store in Yuma, makes it easier for residents to benefit from Verizon Wireless' expansive network and a wide variety of service plans and data services, like picture and video messaging." The addition of the Yuma communications store brings the total number of Verizon Wireless owned- and operated- retail locations in Arizona to 37, an increase of more than 30 percent year-over-year.

Verizon Wireless will celebrate the store's grand opening with an array of activities beginning on March 11, 2005, including the presentation of a $5,000 Verizon Wireless HopeLineSM grant to Amberly's Place, in keeping with Verizon Wireless' long-standing commitment to domestic violence awareness and prevention.
