Verizon Wireless 'My Account' Subscribers Can Now Receive Account Information Alerts By TXT Message

BEDMINSTER, NJ — My Account, Verizon Wireless' single source for online customer service, account and billing information, is now coming to customers' TXT Messaging-capable phones. Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, is the first national wireless provider to offer customers an even easier way to manage their online accounts by registering to receive free TXT Message Alerts about billing activity.

New and existing My Account and My Account in Spanish ("Mi Cuenta") customers can set up personalized alerts to notify them of specific account and billing activity by simply logging on to My Account (www.verizonwireless.com/myaccount), and clicking on the "Email & TXT Alerts" page under the Profile tab. They may choose from the following TXT Alerts categories:

  • Bill Ready — Informs customers when their bill is ready to view online at My Account
  • Payment Confirmation — Confirms that the payment made via My Account has been processed, including confirmations for one-time and recurring payments *
  • Change Features or Billing Address — Confirms that a feature has been added or removed or confirms that a change has been made to the billing address **

Customers can view the settings they have selected at any time by accessing the Email & TXT Alerts page on the Profile tab or add and remove settings by clicking on the Update link.

"These enhancements will deliver new and even more convenient ways for customers to better manage their wireless accounts," said Pat Decker, vice president of customer service for Verizon Wireless. "Customers have asked for these kinds of enhancements and we have heard them. The My Account TXT Alerts will provide Verizon Wireless customers with the flexibility to tailor their wireless experience by allowing them to choose the alert category that best meets their needs."
