WOBURN, MA and WALLINGFORD, CT — Verizon Wireless, the nation's most reliable wireless network, is looking to fill an additional 200 retail management, retail sales, customer support, and telesales positions across New England. The job growth is needed to accommodate strong demand for the company's wireless products and services. Since many of the company's customers are multi-lingual, the company plans to hire significantly more bilingual and multi-lingual employees to bridge language barriers, improve the customer experience and better serve its increasingly diverse customer base.

The available positions, based in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont, will add to the company's current New England employee base of more than 1,800.

In addition to offering competitive salaries and generous benefits packages including health benefits from day one, merit increases, profit-sharing, dollar for dollar 401(k) match up to 6 percent of salary, short and long-term incentives, tuition reimbursement, employee wireless phone program, and more, employees can take advantage of numerous opportunities for career advancement.

2004 was the fourth consecutive year Verizon Wireless was named one of Working Mother magazine's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers," due to the company's continued attention to health and wellness programs and for providing a flexible work environment for women, which includes the company's 'Backup Child Care' program.

The company continues to lead the industry in customer loyalty, indicating a high level of satisfaction among its more than 45.5 million customers, and continues to invest more than $1 billion in its network every 90 days to operate the nation's most reliable network.

"We're committed to providing our customers with the best experience in the industry and the most reliable wireless network. We're adding staff to better serve our customers and stay ahead of the strong demand for our products and services," said Bob Stott, President of Verizon Wireless' New England Region.

As reported through Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) today, Verizon Wireless is experiencing consistent growth, adding 1.64 million net new customers in the first quarter of 2005.

"Our best-in-class wireless network differentiates us from our competitors. Our network quality and reliability, along with our focus on customer service, are the major reasons why we have the best customer retention rate among national wireless carriers," said Stott.
