BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the wireless industry leader in customer loyalty, has once again been recognized for its dedication to customer satisfaction, ranking in the top spot in the wireless phone service category in Brandweek magazine's 2005 Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Index®.

Brand Keys, the New York-based brand and customer loyalty research consultancy, interviewed 10,200 consumers to discover which of 222 brands in 35 categories command the highest measure of customer loyalty. Of the brands measured in the wireless phone service category, Verizon Wireless best met or exceeded customer expectations of the "ideal" brand, the one whose customers will demonstrate the highest levels of loyalty and profitability over the coming months.

Verizon Wireless tops more third-party surveys of wireless customer satisfaction than any other provider. Most recently Verizon Wireless:

  • Ranked highest among U.S. wireless service providers for customer satisfaction in the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) for the second consecutive year.
  • Scored an "A" in caller satisfaction and a "B" in Call Completion in Vocal Laboratories' Q1 2005 SectorPulse Wireless Report, leading all national wireless carriers.
  • Ranked highest in The Customer Respect Group's Second Quarter 2005 Online Customer Respect Survey of North America's largest telecommunications and networking firms, an in-depth analysis and independent measure of a customer's online experience when interacting with companies via the Internet.

Verizon Wireless is the nation's wireless leader in customer loyalty, based on customer retention and turnover rates published by the largest providers. Posting a 1.3% churn rate — the percentage of customers who disconnect their service in a given period of time — Verizon Wireless boasted the lowest Q1 2005 churn rate, well below the industry average.
