HONOLULU, HI — Verizon Wireless today announced the exclusive release of Surfline MOBILE in Hawai'i and the three options--#SURF, Mobile Web 2.0SM and Get It Now®. Verizon Wireless customers can now access Surfline's trademark surf reports and forecasts via their Verizon Wireless phones.
Surfline MOBILE offers access to a reliable surf report network covering nearly 100 surf spots around the globe. Each report features a forecast summary, along with detailed wave heights, wind data, water temperatures, tide readings and more. Reports are posted by 7 a.m., with regional wind updates every thirty minutes. "We are very excited to be the first to bring #SURF to our Hawaii customers," said Mark Yamauchi, director of Hawai'i sales for Verizon Wireless. "Hawaii's beaches and water sports are the envy of the world. Now we provide residents and visitors with three easy ways to get the latest surf updates so they can make the most out of their surfing, fishing, boating, and beach-going experience."
To obtain surf updates, customers may:
- Dial #SURF, for 50 cents per call plus airtime, from any Verizon Wireless handset
- Log onto www.surfline.com/wml via Mobile Web 2.0. Airtime charges apply. Mobile Web 2.0 subscription is $5 monthly access. Handsets must be Mobile Web 2.0-capable.
- Download Surfline Mobile via Get It Now. Airtime charges apply. Unlimited use download fee is $4.75 monthly access. Handsets must be Get It Now-capable.
