SUMMERVILLE, SC — Verizon Wireless, the nation's best most reliable network, kicks off the official opening of its newest retail store in Summerville, September 19th-24th, 2005 with week-long savings and special promotions. In honor of Verizon Wireless' HopeLine® program to benefit victims of domestic violence, Verizon Wireless will donate $1,000 to My Sister's House, a non-profit agency providing services to victims of domestic violence in Summerville and its surrounding communities.

The check presentation will take place on Friday, September 23rd at 1:30 PM at the new retail store, located at 121 Angus Street, and will coincide with the official ribbon cutting ceremony involving Verizon Wireless representatives and local officials.

"The generosity of corporations like Verizon Wireless provides the support our organization needs to make certain help is given to those affected by domestic violence, and I speak for all families personally impacted when I say 'thank you, Verizon Wireless," said Elmire Raven, Executive Director, My Sister's House. "Words are not enough to express my gratitude to Verizon Wireless and their tireless commitment to eliminate domestic violence through its generosity to local domestic violence shelters like ours."

WSSX-FM will also be on site Friday, September 23rd, for a live radio broadcast from 12:30—2:30 p.m. with prize giveaways and special customer offers. The Verizon Wireless retail store will offer customers 25% discount on special accessories and waived activation fees with a 2-year contract during the weeklong grand opening celebration.

Store visitors are also invited to register to win a LGVX6100 camera phone valued at $179.99. Entries for the drawing will be accepted on Monday, September 19th and run through September 23rd with the drawing to take place at the close of business.

Store hours for the new Summerville store are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. Store manager Brian Altemus will lead the Summerville sales team.
