PLATTSBURGH, NY — Verizon Wireless will present STOP Domestic Violence with a $1,250 grant from the company's HopeLine® Foundation. The grant will be used to send STOP staff to national and statewide training and conferences, specific to issues of domestic violence. This grant is just one of 13 grants totaling $35,000 being awarded across Upstate New York to help organizations involved in domestic violence prevention and education introduce new programs, expand existing ones or add facilities to better serve clients.

"STOP Domestic Violence at Behavioral Health Services North is very pleased to accept this HopeLine grant from Verizon Wireless," says Susan Kelley, program director of STOP Domestic Violence. "These funds will help cover staff training needs during the next year. We believe that it is important for the people that use our services to be met with a well trained and creative staff. STOP Domestic Violence also provides training throughout Clinton and Essex Counties."

John O'Malley, Public Relations Manager for Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region, will present the grant to Kelley on Thursday, October 20th at 3:00 PM. The check presentation will take place at the Verizon Wireless Communications Store on Cornelia Street in Plattsburgh.
