BEDMINSTER, NJ and BELLEVUE, WA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Wireless Services Corporation today announced the availability of the iTXT Enterprise Messaging Service, allowing Verizon Wireless' enterprise customers to communicate more efficiently and effectively with their mobile employees. Using iTXT, Verizon Wireless business customers can deliver mission critical messages up to 500 characters long directly and simultaneously to the text messaging-enabled wireless handsets of their field employees.

iTXT Enterprise Messaging allows enterprises to focus on the delivery of critical, time sensitive communications required for dispatch of field service personnel, sales force automation, IT monitoring and alarming and financial services. iTXT also delivers wireless alerts from existing CRM and ERP systems and other communications applications.

iTXT translates major messaging protocols (including SNPP, WCTP and TAP) into TXT Messages, delivers these messages simultaneously to one or more handsets and then provides a confirmation when messages are delivered successfully. To further meet the needs of Verizon Wireless enterprise customers, iTXT Messages can be 500 characters in length rather than the 160-character limit of standard TXT Messaging, and can be used immediately after activation by most TXT Messaging-capable phones in use today.

Additionally, iTXT uses a Web-based message control center to compose, dispatch, track and view responses, making it easier for companies to use TXT Messages. The service secures enterprise messaging within Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption to and from the enterprise, and a virtual private network (VPN) connection to the wireless network.

"Wireless Services Corporation designed iTXT as the next evolution in messaging that delivers a reliable and scalable service," said Rich Begert, president and CEO of Wireless Services Corporation. "This solution gives Verizon Wireless business customers another tool to enhance their field communications."

iTXT is available to Verizon Wireless enterprise customers for $7.95 monthly access per handset with standardized discounts for volume, and a one-time fee to connect each employee to the service. Standard TXT messaging rates apply; extended-length messages, regardless of segments utilized, will be charged at $0.10 per message.
