BEDMINSTER, NJ and ATLANTA, GA — Verizon Wireless and CheckFree Corporation today announced that Verizon Wireless customers now have the option of viewing and paying their wireless phone bills online at their choice of more than 1,700 financial services locations across the Internet. Through an agreement with CheckFree, Verizon Wireless customers can schedule payments using a designated bank account and arrange for monthly bill payments via their preferred home-banking service provider.

Electronic billing and payment services provide Verizon Wireless customers with another easy, secure and efficient way to gain greater control over the payment of their monthly bills. With just a few clicks of the mouse, customers can have their electronic payment delivered promptly, safely and on time.

Verizon Wireless customers can view and pay their wireless phone bills using the CheckFree distribution network of more than 1,700 U.S. banks, portals, brokerage firms and credit unions or at www.mycheckfree.com.

By enrolling at one of these sites, Verizon Wireless customers can receive and pay their wireless phone bills in addition to electronic bills from other companies, including credit card issuers, utilities, insurers, department stores and more. They can also schedule payments to anyone to whom they would write a check, including small businesses and individuals. In addition, Verizon Wireless customers can quickly retrieve and review billing information online through links from their bill payment location and the My Account feature on the Verizon Wireless home page.

"By enabling customers to receive their Verizon Wireless bill electronically and pay via any one of 1,700 financial sites, we are offering our customers more options and the convenience they have come to expect," said Paul D'Auria, Executive Director and Treasurer of Verizon Wireless. "Our relentless pursuit of providing a simple and convenient wireless experience - from the nation's most reliable wireless network, to our industry leading customer service - is what makes Verizon Wireless the leader in customer loyalty."

"Millions of Americans have discovered the ease and convenience of online billing and payment, and Verizon Wireless customers now have the attractive option of handling their wireless bill the same way," said Matt McKernan, Senior Vice President, Biller Business Unit, CheckFree Corporation. "In addition, transactions powered by CheckFree are covered by The CheckFree Guarantee, which provides assurance that payments will arrive on time, as scheduled, and minimizes liability in the unlikely occurrence of fraud."

Verizon Wireless' new online payment option is the latest way for customers to pay their bills the way they want. Customers may also pay their bills automatically online at Verizon Wireless' online program, My Account; on the go, via their wireless phone using #PMT, or using Handset My Account from a Mobile Web 2.0SM-enabled wireless device; at more than 1,900 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and Verizon Wireless Stores at Circuit City nationwide, or by mail. Customers who choose online bill payment do not receive a paper bill by mail. Customers can review bill detail at any time by enrolling in My Account at www.verizonwireless.com.

Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has established itself as the wireless leader in customer loyalty. In the third quarter of 2005, the company posted a customer churn rate of 1.3% -- the percentage of customers who disconnected their service in the quarter -- once again, well below the industry average as reported by the largest national wireless carriers, and best in its field.
