ROCHESTER, NY — Verizon Wireless will host a Job Fair on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 12 pm - 8 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (70 State Street, Rochester) to meet with customer service representative applicants in support of its continuing call center expansion. The Henrietta call center on Calkins Road employs nearly 750 customer service professionals and is hiring 80 additional employees. The company cites strong customer growth and the availability of a skilled local talent pool as the main drivers of the call center's continuing growth.

The Job Fair will provide an opportunity for potential applicants to meet with current representatives, learn more about the call center, and to be interviewed or scheduled for an interview at a later date. There will also be representatives from local Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on hand to demonstrate products and services to further educate potential employees.

The new positions will offer highly competitive salaries and benefits, including health care coverage that begins on the first day of employment, participation in the company's 401(k) program, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, annual bonuses, and long-term incentive plans. Employees can also take advantage of numerous opportunities for career advancement. In addition, Verizon Wireless offers an exciting work environment and was recently named one of Working Mother magazine's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for the fifth consecutive year.

Employees participate in a comprehensive, ongoing training program to prepare to serve customers in their new jobs. Intensive training lasts from four to six weeks depending on the specific role of the employee, with the goal of each customer service employee taking 6-8 hours of additional training every month. The continuous focus on training and customer satisfaction helps prepare these employees to provide Verizon Wireless customers with exceptional customer service.

Verizon Wireless now serves more than 51.3 million customers nationwide and is the nation's wireless leader in customer loyalty, based on customer retention and turnover rates announced publicly by the largest wireless providers. During the 4th quarter of 2005, Verizon Wireless set an industry record for customer growth by adding 2 million net new customers.
