LEWISBURG, PA — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Lewisburg and upgraded another near Montour Ridge, enabling more area customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
These enhancements increase network coverage and calling capacity on the Bucknell University campus and in downtown Lewisburg, West Lawn, Linntown and College Park. Coverage and capacity also are improved along U.S. Route 15 and state routes 45, 147, 192 and 405 in the Lewisburg area.

"These network enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to meet the growing needs of our customers and to provide them with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless."
Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion in the last six years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2005, Verizon Wireless invested $240 million in Pennsylvania to maintain and enhance its network for customers.
