DONEGAL, PA — Verizon Wireless has upgraded its Kregar cell site, enabling more area customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

This improvement enhances network coverage and calling capacity along the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Donegal exit and along state routes 31, 711 and 381 near the towns of Donegal and Kregar.

"During 2005, call volume on our network in Pennsylvania increased by more than 40 percent," said Roger Tang, president—Ohio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. "This network enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to meet the growing needs of our customers and to provide them with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless."

Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion in the last six years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2005, Verizon Wireless invested $240 million in Pennsylvania.
