Verizon Wireless Expands in the Rio Grande Valley with New Communications Store in McAllen, Texas

MCALLEN, TX — To stay ahead of the growing demand for its products and services, Verizon Wireless, the nation's wireless leader in customer loyalty, has opened its third retail location in McAllen and 84th location in Texas. The store is located at 4314 N. 10 ^th Street. Verizon Wireless will kick off the grand opening celebration on June 1 and continue with contests, discounts and giveaways throughout the weekend. Store events include:

Thursday, June 1, 4 p.m. — 5 p.m.

• McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McAllen Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Verizon Wireless will conduct a ceremonial "Wire Cutting" event at 4 p.m.
• Store manager Juan Duran will present a donation to Estella DeAnda, Director of Mujeres Unidas, in support of their ongoing commitment to preventing domestic violence

Saturday, June 3, 11 a.m. — 4 p.m.

• "Shake it like Shakira" dance contest for chance to win Shakira concert tickets and free phones at 2:30 p.m. Five winners receive two tickets apiece to the sold-out McAllen concert in September.
• The first 20 people to activate service between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. during Saturday's grand opening celebration will receive two tickets to the sold-out Shakira concert in McAllen in addition to a free phone.
• Customers can register to win a trip to Dallas in September for the Shakira concert at the following Verizon Wireless stores through June 3: McAllen, North McAllen, Brownsville and Harlingen.
• Meet and receive autographs from the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  The local band 5th Street will perform at the store from 12 p.m. — 4 p.m.
• The Dallas Cowboys "Tour Truck Experience,"a 53-foot specially fitted tractor trailer filled with Cowboys memorabilia will be on display all weekend.
• As part of the grand opening, customers will receive a free Pantech P215 phone with activation through June 11.
• Enjoy free food and local music as well as face painting and fun activities for kids

"We have recently added cell sites to enhance local coverage, and the new store is staffed with bilingual, extensively-trained sales and service representatives."

In April and May, Verizon Wireless enhanced the strength of its network by activating several sites in McAllen and Edinburg. The Kenyon Road and Montecristo sites enhance coverage in north, central and east Edinburg around the intersection of Closner Blvd. and FM 1925 as well as SR 107 and Hwy 281. Coverage in southwestern Edinburg and northeast McAllen around the intersection of Canton and Jackson is also improved with the activation of the Maria Luisa site.

The new store features a variety of wireless products and services including TXT Messaging, Picture Messaging, Ringback Tones and Get It Now® applications, including VCAST Music, ring tones, games, productivity applications and more. At the new location, customers will find:

• 100% bilingual, highly trained sales and service representatives who are committed to providing shoppers with world-class customer service
• An extensive customer service and technical support area totaling over 25 percent of the overall retail square footage
• A top-of-the-line self service center featuring a bill payment kiosk
• An informational video displayed on a 40" LCD screen, providing current and prospective customers with information on the latest handsets and accessories, wireless tips, roadside assistance, customer service, the Verizon Wireless network and account management options
