PEORIA, IL — Verizon Wireless has named Lorie Thurman of Washington to the company's prestigious President's Cabinet.

Thurman demonstrated exceptional sales leadership in 2005 by providing Peoria-area customers outstanding service on company products and service plans, such as TXT, Picture and Video Messaging services and advanced data products.

Thurman, currently a senior sales representative at the Verizon Wireless Pioneer Parkway Communications Store in Peoria, earned the President's Cabinet designation for meeting a series of criteria, including being ranked in the top 1.5 percent nationally in 2005 sales, placing her as one of the company's top performers among its more than 15,000 sales executives.

"At Verizon Wireless, we encourage our employees to focus on matching our products and services to customer needs," said T.J. Fox, president—Illinois/Wisconsin Region, Verizon Wireless. "Lorie exemplifies what it means to put customers first. She is highly valued by us and her customers."
