Traveling This Summer? Your Verizon Wireless Phone Can Help Manage Your Account While On The Road

Customers Today Check Balances, Make Payments and More From Their Handsets

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — With summer vacation season getting into full swing, Verizon Wireless makes it easy for customers to manage their wireless accounts from their handsets while they are away from home.

Handset My Account
'Handset My Account' is a free-of-charge service that allows contract customers to access self-serve functionality directly from their Mobile Web 2.0SM-enabled* handset. Customers can use Handset My Account to check balances; check minutes, message and kilobit (data) usage; make, manage and review payments; view current plan and features; and change voicemail password.

Customers on the go can also take advantage of two new features of Handset My Account - Store Locator and FAQs - to locate a Verizon Wireless Communications Store near them and find answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to billing, using voicemail, roaming and traveling, Get It Now®, IN Calling and My Account.

Verizon Wireless customers with Mobile Web 2.0 can access Handset My Account from the VZW Today home page under VZW Services. Customers not subscribed to Mobile Web 2.0 can access Handset My Account by opening their Web browser and selecting the My Account option.

TXT Alerts
Before hitting the road, customers can set up personalized alerts to notify them of account and billing activity. Once registered, customers will receive free TXT Messages on their TXT Messaging-capable phones with Bill Ready, Payment Confirmation and/or Change Features and Address information. Customers can sign up for My Account by visiting www.verizonwireless.com/myaccount.  

Payment and TXT Information
While on the road, customers can hear details of their last five payment transactions, including the dates payments were received and the total balance paid, by dialing #BAL (#225) from their wireless phone or 800-922-0204 from any phone. A TXT Message with current balance information and last payment details, including the amount paid and the date the payment was received will automatically be sent to the customer's wireless phone. Talkative travelers can also hear information about minutes used and minutes currently available from the #BAL menu at any time.

In addition, Verizon Wireless text-happy customers looking to keep a tally of their TXT Messages can do so by dialing #DATA (#3282) from their wireless phones. Customers can find out the number of TXT Messages that have been sent and received during the current monthly billing period. Once connected, the customer will hear up-to-the-minute details about all domestic and international TXT Messages sent and received since the beginning of the billing cycle. All customers will also receive a free TXT Message with usage information included.

Verizon Wireless customers can access #BAL and #DATA at no extra cost 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call is toll and airtime free.
