Wireless Phone Users In Batavia, Illinois, Now Experience Even Clearer Reception And Fewer Dropped Calls

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Batavia that expands network coverage and increases capacity, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

This new cell site improves Verizon Wireless' voice and data network in the town of Batavia, near the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory at Wilson Street and Kirk Road, and north to Roosevelt Road, south to Butterfield Road, east to Eola Road and west to Randall Road. Additionally, the cell site improves signal penetration into area buildings.

More than $151 million of this investment was spent in Illinois in 2005.
