INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The activation of a new Verizon Wireless cell site in Gifford means more customers can use their wireless phones to make calls, send and receive e-mail and TXT, Picture and Video Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

The new cell site improves coverage in Gifford; along State Road 49 between State Road 14 and State Road 10; and along U.S. Route 231 between State Road 14 State Road 10.

"These upgrades mean more customers can call friends and family while on the go, check email while away from the office and share pictures instantly-all on the nation's most reliable wireless network."

The new Gifford cell site is part of Verizon Wireless' continuous effort to increase coverage and augment the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Indiana and across the country. Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion in the last six years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. The company has invested more than $618 million over the past six years in its Indiana network.
