ALPHARETTA, GA — To provide the best wireless service for businesses, residents and visitors in Macon, Georgia, Verizon Wireless has expanded its digital network here by constructing two new advanced digital cell sites.

The new sites process both voice calls and wireless data traffic — in the residential area of River North in Jones County and in the city of Warner Robins — enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying enhanced wireless service.

In addition, Verizon Wireless recently announced network enhancements that provide increased coverage for the Macon Mall and a new tower to increase network capacity along I-475, Key Street, and the Bloomfield residential areas in Southwest Macon.

This aggressive network investment — now totaling over $700 million in Georgia since 2003 and in excess of $30 billion nationally during the past six years — ensures that Verizon Wireless will continue to stay ahead of the growing demand for wireless voice and data services. To date in 2006, the company has invested more than $63 million to enhance and expand its network in more than 30 cities across Georgia.

"Our continuous investment reflects the growing demand in Macon for Verizon Wireless services. We always strive to provide our customers with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless, wherever they are in Georgia. A major reason our customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us is because we offer the nation's most reliable network," said Jim McGean, president—Georgia/Alabama Region, Verizon Wireless.

Reliable service is fundamental to customer loyalty, and Verizon Wireless boasts the highest customer loyalty in the industry. Verizon Wireless also continues to post the lowest customer churn rate — 1.2% - among national carriers and ranked on top in the Southeast including Georgia for the highest call quality, overall customer satisfaction and nationwide as best for business according to the most recent JD Power reports.

The company's 'most reliable network' claim is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women throughout the country who inspired the "Can you hear me now? Good®" national advertising campaign. These engineers conduct more than 300,000 call attempts monthly on Verizon Wireless' and other national carriers' networks while traveling over 100,000 miles a month in specially equipped company-owned test vehicles.
