ALPHARETTA, GA — In its ongoing effort to provide the best wireless service in Georgia, Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has again expanded its Georgia network with a new cell tower in Statesboro. This site will provide better coverage and capacity on Hwy 301 and the 301 bypass in Statesboro, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls. This is the second time in 2006 Verizon Wireless has added a new cell tower in Statesboro. The first tower improved coverage on the west side of the Statesboro residential area including the Forest Heights Country Club.
Reliable service is fundamental to customer loyalty, and Verizon Wireless boasts the highest customer loyalty in the industry. Verizon Wireless continues to post the lowest customer churn rate 1.13% in the second quarter of this year among national carriers.
"Our continuous investment reflects the growing demand in Georgia for Verizon Wireless services. We always strive to provide our customers with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless, wherever they are in Georgia. A major reason our customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us is because we offer the nation's most reliable network," said Jim McGean, presidentGeorgia/Alabama Region, Verizon Wireless.
Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion - on average $5 billion every year - since the company was formed six years ago to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new capabilities. In Georgia and Alabama, Verizon Wireless invested more than $112 million to date in 2006 in network enhancements and expansion to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in this area.
The company's most reliable wireless network claim is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women who inspired the company's national advertising campaign. These engineers conduct more than 750,000 voice call attempts and 1.4 million data tests quarterly on Verizon Wireless' and other national carriers' networks while traveling more than 225,000 miles in specially equipped, company owned test vehicles.
