BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and VANCOUVER — Verizon Wireless and Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced that the Sierra Wireless AirCard® 595 PC card for EV-DO Revision A networks is now commercially available for use with Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service. This is the first EV-DO Revision A-compatible PC card to launch on the Verizon Wireless network, and is available on-line and through Verizon Wireless business customer sales channels. The Sierra Wireless AirCard 595 PC card will be in Verizon Wireless communications stores by mid January.

EV-DO Revision A, an enhancement to Verizon Wireless' current EV-DO network, will offer improved data speeds, particularly for users sending large files like presentations or photos over their wireless connection. The AirCard 595 PC card is also fully compatible with Verizon Wireless' current EV-DO and CDMA 1X networks, so customers purchasing the card will be able to take advantage of the benefits of Revision A when and where it becomes available. A simple over-the-air download will expand the capabilities of the card to accommodate Rev A speeds.

"We are pleased to collaborate again with Verizon Wireless in delivering the newest EV-DO technology to its customers," said Dan Schieler, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Sierra Wireless. "EV-DO Revision A promises significant benefits to mobile data customers - enabling new applications that involve the creation of higher bandwidth content on the laptop and sending it to colleagues or clients while mobile. With the AirCard 595 card, Verizon Wireless customers will be able to take full advantage of the new technology as soon as it is available."

The AirCard 595 PC card is available for $99.99 after a $50 rebate with a new two year customer agreement online at www.verizonwireless.com. Business customers can contact a Verizon Wireless Business Sales Representative directly at 1-800-VZW 4 BIZ.

For a limited time, Verizon Wireless customers with a new or existing voice plan can get unlimited BroadbandAccess service for Internet browsing, e-mail and intranet access for $59.99 monthly access. A new two-year customer agreement is required. For non-voice customers, BroadbandAccess is available for $79.99 monthly access with a new one- or two-year customer agreement.
