CHATTANOOGA, TN — Verizon Wireless' Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) third generation (3G) wide-area network is now available in Chattanooga (and surrounding North Georgia area), providing Tennesseans statewide with access to high-speed business and entertainment-based services on their wireless phones, laptops and other wireless devices.

"In just 16 months, Verizon Wireless has delivered EV-DO technology and services to Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis, Tri-Cities and Chattanooga, marking our company's commitment to bring cutting-edge technology to residents across the state," said Jerry Fountain, Carolinas/Tennessee region president for Verizon Wireless. "Chattanooga customers can now stream live news clips from their favorite television programs and download music from our library of 1.5 million songs while using Verizon Wireless' exclusive V CAST Music services on the nation's most reliable network.*"

Verizon Wireless was the first national wireless provider to commercially launch a high-speed wireless broadband network in the United States, and the company's EV-DO network reaches more than 200 million Americans. Tennessee residents in Hamilton, Marion and Rhea counties, along with Georgia residents in Catoosa, Dade and Walker counties can now access Verizon Wireless' EV-DO network.

In 2006, Verizon Wireless invested $200 million to build, maintain and expand its high-quality network, and since 2003, the company has spent $430 million in the volunteer state to ensure network reliability and expanded coverage and capacity. On a national level, Verizon Wireless has spent $35 billion nationwide over the last seven years to ensure network reliability and expanded coverage and capacity.

For non-voice customers, BroadbandAccess is available for $79.99 monthly access for unlimited use with a one-year customer agreement.
