Wireless Phone Users In Pike County, Pennsylvania, Now Experience Even Clearer Reception And Fewer Dropped Calls

PIKETON, OH — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Piketon, increasing network coverage in the town and portions of Pike County.

The network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive email and TXT, Picture and Video Messages; and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

This new cell site improves Verizon Wireless' voice and data network along the U.S. Highway 23 corridor, seamlessly joining existing coverage areas from Waverly to the north and Sargents to the south. Coverage is also improved from State Route 220 west to State Route 104.

More than $195 million of this investment was spent in Ohio in 2006 to maintain and enhance its network.
