WOBURN, MA — In response to growing demand for the company's voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new Communications Store in Biddeford, Maine. The new store has been designed to make wireless shopping more convenient for new customers and to provide current customers with greater access to customer and technical support services. Located at 127 Shops Way, Route 111, in the Biddeford Crossing Center, the store is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"This expansion represents our commitment to provide customers with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff," commented Biddeford store manager Ryan Boudreau. "Demand for our wireless services continues to grow as more people take advantage of our America's Choice® and FamilyShare® price plans, and our popular data services like wireless broadband, V CAST downloadable music and on demand Video, Picture Messaging and TXT Messaging."

Boudreau will oversee a staff of nine employees. The store features the full range of Verizon Wireless products and services and is fully staffed for customer service and technical support, allowing customers to speak with Verizon Wireless' highly trained representatives about all their wireless needs.

In 2006, Verizon Wireless activated 100 cell sites across Maine, added company-owned retail locations, and announced partnerships with authorized agents MC Wireless, Wireless Zone and Wireless Explosion. The company also recently opened a Verizon Wireless Store in Circuit City in Augusta.

Verizon Wireless has invested more than $35 billion in the last seven years - $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed - to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2006 the company completed nearly $318 million in New England network enhancements - thus increasing the company's regional network expenditure to more than $1.8 billion since 2000.

The store also provides a HopeLine® phone collection bin where anyone can donate no-longer-used wireless handsets and accessories. Through the award-winning Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, most of the donated handsets and equipment are refurbished and sold, with proceeds going to support domestic violence awareness and prevention programs. Remaining handsets are recycled in an environmentally-friendly way.
