HIRAM, GA — Verizon Wireless, which owns and operates the nation's most reliable wireless network serving 59 million customers, announces the opening of its newest location in Georgia. The new store, located at 4791 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, is open for business and will host its official grand opening ceremony Wednesday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. Representatives from the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce will share in the celebration.

To commemorate the grand opening, Verizon Wireless will present a HopeLine® grant to Shepherd's Rest Ministries, at the March 7 ceremony. Shepherd's Rest Ministries provides informational resources and critical support to victims of abuse. HopeLine is Verizon Wireless' exclusive nationwide phone recycling program that distributes previously owned wireless phones to victims of domestic violence, supports non-profit domestic violence advocacy groups and provides an environmentally safe method for recycling phones.

On Saturday, March 10, Verizon Wireless will host a children's fingerprinting session at the store, 11:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. In an effort to make area children safer, Verizon Wireless has teamed up with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office to host the event. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the store to create and file a permanent record of their fingerprints. These records have been proven to save lives in the case of lost or kidnapped children.

Verizon Wireless continues to expand its retail presence to meet the growing demand for wireless products and services, and to make wireless shopping more convenient for customers. "This expansion represents our ongoing commitment to provide our growing Georgia customer base with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff," said Jeff Mango, president — Georgia/Alabama region for Verizon Wireless.

The Hiram store is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, Noon — 6:00 p.m. The telephone number is (770) 943-9157. Verizon Wireless Communications Stores offer a premier line of digital wireless phones in all price ranges, data services and accessories.
