WALNUT CREEK, CA — Verizon Wireless and the Golden State Warriors are calling on you to help curb domestic violence. Fans attending the Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks home game on Tuesday, April 17, can pick up a postage-paid shipping envelope and donate their used wireless phones and accessories to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program.
Through its HopeLine program, Verizon Wireless, the only major carrier with a 30-day network test-drive pledge that pays for calls if a customer isn't satisfied and switches to another carrier, collects wireless phones and accessories from any wireless service provider, and then refurbishes the phones or recycles them in an environmentally friendly way. Proceeds from the program are used to provide wireless phones and airtime, and financial grants to domestic violence and non-profit advocacy agencies.
"As a sponsor of the Golden State Warriors, we are proud to team up to extend a HopeLine to victims of domestic violence," said Rich Garwood, regional president for Verizon Wireless. "Together, we're challenging basketball fans to go through their drawers and closets and put their old wireless phones and accessories to good use."
Wireless phones and equipment can be donated to the HopeLine program year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store across the country.
