HOLLY, CO — WHO:
Verizon Wireless, the only major carrier with a 30-day network test-drive pledge that pays for calls if a customer isn't satisfied and switches to another carrier.

WHAT/WHERE:
The company established a Cell on Light Truck (COLT) temporary cell site near the Holly High School in Holly, Colorado, in a matter of hours and delivered 20 activated phones and other services to assist emergency personnel, clean-up crews and volunteers manage the aftermath of the state's devastating tornado in Holly.

MOBILE CELL SITE FLEET:
Verizon Wireless owns, maintains and deploys a fleet of Cells on Light Trucks (COLTs) and Cells on Wheels (COWS) that can mobilize quickly to provide temporary network facilities and capacity in the event of a natural disaster or other unplanned interruptions of voice and data service. The COLT is expected to remain in service in Holly until late April.

NETWORK RELIABILITY:
In addition to the fleet of mobile equipment, Verizon Wireless' nationwide network reliability is supported by industry-leading redundancy and maintenance measures, which have proven particularly valuable during natural disasters and other emergencies. Standard Verizon Wireless network reliability features include battery back-up power at all facilities as well as generators installed at all switching facilities and many cell site locations.

NETWORK INVESTMENT:
In Colorado, Verizon Wireless invested more than $106 million in network enhancements in 2006. The company has invested nearly $529 million during the most recent five-year period in Colorado network upgrades alone.
