WALNUT CREEK, CA — With the kickoff of the professional football season right around the corner, fans dreaming of a championship year can count on Verizon Wireless' network to be super when they flock to pre-season training in Napa, California.

In anticipation of football fans heading to pre-season training camp Napa and the surrounding area, Verizon Wireless, the leading wireless company with the most reliable wireless voice and data network, has enhanced its network coverage to keep fans connected while they watch their favorite football team in action. Recent network enhancements include adding capacity to cell sites located near the training facility.

These network enhancements improve Verizon Wireless' call quality and increase capacity up to 40% around Napa, enabling calls to connect and stay connected and allowing customers to access a variety of advanced services such as text and picture messaging, V CAST and V CAST Music, BroadbandAccess, and other applications.

The recent network upgrades are part of Verizon Wireless' ongoing efforts to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Napa and across the country. Verizon Wireless has invested $37 billion in the last seven years — $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed — to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services.

After practice, football fans can catch sports highlights and breaking news on Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video service or on Verizon Wireless' exclusive ESPN MVP application. Verizon Wireless customers with select phones can download ESPN MVP for free if they subscribe to the Verizon Wireless monthly VPak. For $15 monthly access, the V CAST VPak includes unlimited basic V CAST Video clips, access to Mobile Web 2.0SM and ESPN MVP. Subscribers to the V CAST VPak do not incur airtime charges when using V CAST Video, V CAST Music, Mobile Web 2.0, or Get It Now® applications. ESPN MVP is not available to Verizon Wireless customers opting for daily V CAST subscriptions. To access Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video service, customers must be in a V CAST coverage area.
