EL PASO, TX — Verizon Wireless and the UTEP Athletics Department invite you to join in during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to help be part of the solution.

Fans attending the Miners home game on Saturday, October 13 can donate their used wireless phones and accessories to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program. Drop boxes will be located at the main entrance by the Verizon Wireless vehicle and on the north concourse at the Sun Bowl from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

At the same game, UTEP Athletics will broadcast on Miner Vision a domestic violence awareness Public Service Announcement (PSA) featuring Miners head women's basketball coach Keitha Adams.

Through the HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and refurbished wireless phones with airtime to non-profit human services and law enforcement agencies to aid victims of domestic violence.

Wireless phones and equipment can be donated to the HopeLine program year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store across the country.
