WILMINGTON, NC — In response to growing demand for the company's voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new, full-service Communications Store in Wilmington, N.C. The new Wilmington Verizon Wireless Store, located at 318 S. College Road across from TJ Maxx, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and check presentation on Wednesday, October 17th, at 2:30 p.m. with New Hanover County officials.

In honor of the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program — a program long dedicated to putting wireless products to work to combat domestic violence — Verizon Wireless will donate $1,000 to the Anitra Allen Coburn Emergency Fund, a statewide fund to help victims of domestic violence across North Carolina.

"Verizon Wireless' contributions to the Anitra Allen Coburn Emergency Fund enables us to help more victims get the support that they need," said Rita Anita Linger, executive director for the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence. "More than 25 domestic violence victims have received assistance from the fund, and with Verizon Wireless' support, even more women will benefit."

Throughout October, visitors to the store will have a chance to enter a drawing to win four Carolina Panthers football game tickets with Silver Club access, valued at $245 each. Other grand opening initiatives throughout October include 1,000 bonus minutes with a new two-year activation and a waived activation fee, 25% off select accessories, Free Phone Days on October 19th - 21st (any phones that are $49.99 or below after mail-in-rebate are free with a two-year contract on a new line with a calling plan of $39.99 or higher) and live broadcasts by WRQR 104.5 Wednesday, October 17th, from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. and WMNX 97.3 Saturday, October 20th, from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

The new Wilmington store features the full range of Verizon Wireless products and services and is fully staffed for customer service and technical support, allowing customers to speak with Verizon Wireless' highly trained representatives about all of their wireless needs.

The new store also features:

  • A top-of-the-line self-service center with bill payment kiosk
  • An informational video displayed on an LCD screen that provides customers with information on the latest handsets and accessories, the Verizon Wireless network, wireless tips, roadside assistance, customer service, account management options and much more

Store hours for the new Wilmington store are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Store manager Jill Reininger will lead the Wilmington sales team.
