ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC — Wireless users in North Carolina are now experiencing increased coverage in Roanoke Rapids and surrounding communities, thanks to new Verizon Wireless cell site improvements. Verizon Wireless customers will immediately experience enhanced wireless coverage in the following areas:
- Highway 48 and Medoc Mountain Road area near Brinkleyville
- Carolina Crossroads - near the intersection of Highway 125 and I-95
The recent network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; and download games and Ringtones while enjoying superior wireless coverage.
"Verizon Wireless is always looking for ways to increase our customer's available networks for their wireless voice and data needs," said Jerry Fountain, president of Verizon Wireless' Carolinas/Tennessee region. "Increasing coverage in North Carolina is a priority for us to continually raise the bar in our enhancement efforts and ongoing customer service approval."
The enhancement in and around Roanoke is part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in North Carolina. Since 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested over $719 million in North Carolina.
In an industry first, Verizon Wireless is putting customers in the driver's seat to take the nation's most reliable* wireless voice and data network for a spin. Verizon Wireless is the only major carrier with a 30-day network Test Drive pledge that pays for calls if a customer is not satisfied with Verizon Wireless and switches to another carrier.
