WILMINGTON, NC — Wireless users in North Carolina are now experiencing increased coverage along the coast thanks to new Verizon Wireless cell site improvements. Verizon Wireless customers will immediately experience improved wireless coverage in the following areas:

  • West Beach Drive and Southwest Sunset Harbor Road
  • Green Swamp Road between U.S. Highway 74 and Ocean Highway in Bolton
  • River Road Southeast and George II Highway Southeast
  • State Route 133 and Country Club Drive between Southport and Oak Island

The recent network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; and download games and Ringtones while enjoying superior wireless coverage.

"Verizon Wireless continually raises the bar to reach optimal service for our wireless voice and data customers in North Carolina," said Jerry Fountain, president of Verizon Wireless' Carolinas/Tennessee region. "Dependable wireless service and high-quality customer service keeps our customers coming back year after year."

The enhancement along the coast is part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in North Carolina. Since 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested over $719 million in North Carolina.

In an industry first, Verizon Wireless is putting customers in the driver's seat to take the nation's most reliable* wireless voice and data network for a spin. Verizon Wireless is the only major carrier with a 30-day network Test Drivepledge that pays for calls if a customer is not satisfied with Verizon Wireless and switches to another carrier.
