NEW YORK, NY, BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and LAS VEGAS, NV — From 2008 International CES, Sundance Channel and Verizon Wireless announced today that Sundance Channel's short form programming is now available on Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video service. The perfect mobile companion for customers who prefer independent films and programming, Sundance Channel on V CAST includes video clips from prior Sundance Film Festival coverage, as well as animated and live action short films and Sundance Channel original programming. In addition, daily video clips from Sundance Channel's "Festival Updates" from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival will be available to V CAST customers from Jan. 17-27, 2008.

Verizon Wireless V CAST Video customers can check out the following programming on Sundance Channel on V CAST:

  • Daily updates from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival starting Jan. 17, 2008
  • Clips from prior Sundance Film Festival coverage featuring Robert Redford and Crispin Glover
  • Animated green short films including "Yung Yeti" by Cole Gerst, "Breakfast" by Bob Fox and "Wasted" by Casey Safron
  • Live action short films including "Electric Chairs" directed by Anita McGee and "Not Pretty, Really" directed by Mark McKinney
  • Segments from Sundance Channel's original series "Big Ideas for a Small Planet"

Customers with select V CAST-enabled phones can check out V CAST whenever they want for just $3.00 for 24-hour use or by signing up for the $15.00 V CAST VPak monthly subscription, which also includes access to Verizon Wireless' ESPN MVP, Get It Now® and Mobile Web 2.0SM services. Customers get unlimited basic video — including Sundance Channel — but application download fees apply for 3D games and premium video. There are no airtime or megabyte charges to download, stream or watch V CAST content with any V CAST subscription.
