"Our new 2,000 square-foot Petaluma store provides plenty of space for both shopping and customer service, in keeping with our commitment to deliver the best possible wireless experience," said Rich Garwood, regional president of Verizon Wireless.

Local residents are invited to stop in and are encouraged to bring old cell phones and accessories they no longer use (from any wireless provider) for donation to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program. Through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and to donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to local shelters and non-profit organizations to aid survivors of domestic violence. Last year, Verizon Wireless awarded more than $400,000 in grants, and donated nearly 1,400 phones and more than 4 million minutes of use to domestic violence agencies throughout California.
