WHAT:
Starting July 1, 2008, motorists must use hands-free devices when talking on their cellphones in the state of Washington. Verizon Wireless representatives are available for interviews on options, criteria for choosing hands-free devices, programming Bluetooth devices, what customers are buying and responsible driving tips.

HOW MUCH:
Hands-free accessories range in price from about $15-$150.

WHEN:
The day the law goes into effect: Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

WHERE:
Verizon Wireless Communication Stores throughout WA and northern OR (please call 206.940.0385 for nearest location) including Bellingham, Kennewick, Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Wenatchee, Vancouver, Yakima, and Portland, OR.

WHY:
The company led the industry in requiring device manufactures to provide cellphones equipped with a universal headset jack and voice-activated dialing. In addition, Verizon Wireless offers free shipping of hands-free car kits, headsets and ear pieces ordered online.
