WHAT:
This year’s Verizon Wireless youth soccer clinic in San Jose will feature Mexican soccer legend Ramon Martinez. On Sunday, more than 300 kids will learn the tricks of the trade from one of Mexico’s greatest players. In addition to participating in the clinic and receiving exclusive gifts, the kids will also enjoy an exclusive autograph session with Ramon Martinez.

This is the third consecutive year Verizon Wireless is hosting soccer clinics as part of the Copa Alianza initiative. This year’s clinics in 17 markets across the United States will benefit approximately 6,000 children. Ramon Martinez, who will attend the San Jose soccer clinic, is the third most selected player in Mexico’s history with 121 international appearances. In a career spanning more than a decade Ramon represented his country while playing in two World Cups (USA 1994 and France 1998) and three Copa Americas (Ecuador 1993, Uruguay 1995 and Paraguay 1999). He also led the Mexican team to a 4-3 victory over Brazil in the 1999 Confederations Cup.
