WICHITA, KS — Verizon Wireless has donated $2,830 to the StepStone program. The funds will be used to support a home renovation project for a local family.

“Verizon Wireless has a strong history of supporting programs committed to raising awareness and breaking the cycle of domestic violence in our community,” said Lou Sigillo, president–Kansas/Missouri region, Verizon Wireless. “We’re proud to assist these organizations with their efforts to help women and children affected by domestic violence.”

Established in 1995, StepStone was the first scattered-site transitional housing program for domestic violence survivors in Kansas. StepStone owns and operates a number of two- and three-bedroom homes and five two-bedroom duplex units in Wichita, and also provides support services such as budget counseling, life skills training, guidance on personal boundaries and healthy relationships, educational and career goal-setting and parenting skills training.
