Clarion and Fort Dodge, Iowa, Residents To Benefit From Verizon Wireless Network Enhancements

FORT DODGE, IA — Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the highest customer loyalty, has activated two new cell sites in Clarion and Fort Dodge, Iowa, which will enable more customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; and download games and ringtones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

In Clarion, the new cell site improves coverage in the entire downtown area and along County Road 38 (2nd St. NW) as far north as 200th Street and as far south as 250th Street. Coverage also improves along State Highway 3 as far east as Page Avenue (County Road 53) and as far west as Hancock Ave. (County Road 33).

In northern Fort Dodge, the new cell site near the intersection of North 15th St. and 20th Ave. North, improves coverage along North 15th St. (Nelson Ave.) as far north as 160th Street, including portions of the Fort Dodge Regional Airport, and as far south as Floral Ave. Coverage is also improved along the Fort Dodge Nature Trail in this area, as far east as North 29th St. and as far west as North 8th St.

This new cell site is part of Verizon Wireless’ continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Iowa and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $48 billion since it was formed—$5.5 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. Year to date, the company has invested more than $19.4 million in its Iowa network improvements, and since 2001, it has invested more than $221 million in network enhancements in the state.
