Verizon Wireless Engages OpenPeak To Provide End-To-End Design, Engineering And Manufacturing For New Verizon Hub

BOCA RATON, FL, and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — OpenPeak, Inc., the leading provider of VoIP multimedia telephony systems, and Verizon Wireless announced today that OpenPeak™ has been selected by Verizon Wireless to serve as the exclusive hardware provider for the new Verizon Hub. An innovative new VoIP multimedia home communications system, the Verizon Hub reinvents the home telephone with touch screen access to voice, data and multimedia content to help busy families stay organized and connected at home and on the go.

Available now in Verizon Wireless stores and online, the Verizon Hub promises to revolutionize the home phone by providing an all-in-one communications command center that bridges landline and wireless connectivity. The Verizon Hub runs on any broadband connection supplied by Verizon (FiOS Internet or DSL) or any other high-speed service provider.

OpenPeak’s relationship with Verizon Wireless marks its first wide-scale deployment of its innovative VoIP platform in the consumer market. The Verizon Hub is the result of OpenPeak’s world-class, end-to-end design, engineering and delivery system that integrates a rich, interactive media experience with the convenience and comfort of a home telephone.

The Verizon Hub is available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores nationwide for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year agreement; additional cordless handsets are $79.99 each. A wireless line of service with Verizon Wireless is required in order to purchase the Verizon Hub, and all billing for the system will be consolidated onto customers’ Verizon Wireless bills. In addition, customers need a Verizon Digital Voice plan, which is $34.99 a month and offers unlimited calling in the U.S., Canada, and U.S. Territories, including Puerto Rico, as well as unlimited messaging to and from Verizon Wireless phones.
