PHILADELPHIA, PA — Verizon Wireless has opened its newest “evolution” communications store in Philadelphia on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus, 3631 Walnut Street, next to the university bookstore. The store offers customers hands-on interaction with wireless voice, data, music and video services in a sleek, new full-service environment. Store hours are Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The store features:

  • Sales representatives equipped with mobile, point-of-sale tablet PCs to speed the sales process. The tablet PCs – equipped with the same point-of-sale applications as the sales counter terminals – enable team members to come from behind the counter and engage in side-by-side consultations with customers. Retail representatives can also process the entire transaction from the sales floor without leaving the customers side utilizing the mobile tablet PCs.
  • A broad range of Verizon Wireless products and services on display, including mobile broadband PC Cards, traditional phones and smartphones that customers can examine and use to make live test calls.
  • Expert retail sales and customer service representatives dedicated to providing the best customer experience in wireless.

The store also offers consumers a broad range of services and equipment, including popular devices like the BlackBerry® Tour™ and new service features including Verizon Wireless Friends & Family® which lets customers on eligible calling plans enjoy unlimited calling to up to 10 numbers on any network, anytime, anywhere in America without using plan minutes.

Store Manager Patrick Lee will oversee the 1,500-square-foot location. Lee encourages area residents to join the company in its efforts to help survivors of domestic violence by bringing no-longer-used wireless phones to the new store for donation to the company’s HopeLine® phone recycling program. HopeLine collects used cell phones to be recycled or sold and donates the proceeds in the form of cash grants and pre-paid wireless phones to advocacy groups for use by survivors.

The store is one of 108 Verizon Wireless retail locations in the Philadelphia Tri-State Region. The store’s phone number is 215-382-1304. For additional details on Verizon Wireless locations, products and services, please visit www.verizonwireless.com.
