GRAND FORKS, ND — Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the highest customer loyalty, has activated a new cell site on State Highway 200 between Finley and Mayville, which enables more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
Network coverage from the cell site is improved as follows:
- North on County Road 8 to County Road 23 (including the Golden Lake area);
- South on County Road 8 to County Road 8A;
- East on State Highway 200 to State Highway 18;
- Southwest of U.S. Highway 83 for six miles.
“Network reliability is the No. 1 reason that customers choose and stay with Verizon Wireless,” said Nancy Clark, president–Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. “Getting through on the first try and maintaining a connection are critical to our customers, so we continue to optimize our network to provide them with the best overall experience.”
The new cell site is part of Verizon Wireless’ continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in North Dakota and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $50 billion since it was formed—$5.5 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. In North Dakota, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $160 million since 2001 on new cell sites and other network improvements.
