Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers and Brian Danfield, acting regional president for Verizon Wireless, will officially mark the store’s certification with the cutting of a gold ribbon. Interviews with the Mayor and representatives of the City and Verizon Wireless and tours of the store will also be available.

Background:
The Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Avondale is the first in Arizona and among the first Verizon Wireless retail locations in the nation to secure LEED® certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The Avondale store’s design optimizes water and energy use, enhances indoor environmental quality and reduces waste through responsible procurement and construction practices.
