Verizon Wireless Adds Keynotes And Panels For Verizon Developer Community Conference

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless today announced the keynote speakers and panels for its second annual Verizon Developer Community (VDC) Conference, taking place Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22 at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The two-day event will focus on fostering the development of new mobile applications for existing and future wireless networks, and developers can register at no charge by visiting www.vdcconference.com.

“We’ve put together a program that offers developers insight into the ongoing evolution of the mobile ecosystem alongside practical, real-world examples of how to bring new apps to market and how to make money,” said Greg Haller, vice president, Consumer Solutions for Verizon Wireless, who will open the conference with an update on the VDC.

Several developer panels will close out the morning, including:

• Leveraging Verizon Wireless’ Partnerships: A panel, including Samsung Telecommunications, MTV Networks, Zoove, Bug Labs and Lookout, will discuss working with Verizon Wireless to advance the mobile application ecosystem and launch applications on the company’s portal.
• Developer Experiences: Executives from three developers will offer case studies on topics including merchandising content on V CAST Apps, enhancing the application experience, and testing and trialing Verizon Wireless’APIs.

The VDC Conference will also feature a full slate of in-depth sessions ranging from APIs and other network enablers to opportunities for developers in vertical markets. Sessions devoted to open development, connected devices and opportunities tied to the forthcoming 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network will also be available. Verizon Wireless leaders and other partners will talk about marketing, merchandising, and the tools and technical resources available to VDC members.
