BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless today announced that the City of Concord, New Hampshire, has selected the company’s Push to Talk voice service to enhance their business processes, increase efficiencies and improve response time. Verizon Wireless will provide the city with 60 lines of Push to Talk on the BlackBerry® Bold™ and the Motorola Barrage™ along with access to e-mail, Personal Information Managers (PIMs), the Internet, and instant two-way communications.

“The dispatch functionality of Push to Talk makes this the perfect tool for city of Concord employees who need to interact with co-workers as part of day-to-day operations and help them communicate with colleagues in nearby towns when circumstances demand that kind of coordination,” said Marc Stewart, major account manager for Verizon Wireless.

“We chose Verizon Wireless for its coverage and reliability,” said Concord Director of Information Services, Edward Drouse. “We needed network coverage the other carriers simply could not provide. Discounted rate plans mean nothing if we can’t make or receive a call or email when needed.”
