LAS VEGAS, NV and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), BL Healthcare, Inc. today announced its 4G LTE-enabled TCx-I Healthcare Access Terminal that delivers multi-point HD video conferencing with simultaneous sharing of medical telemetry between remote patients and their caregivers.

BL Healthcare has developed the first and only HD video-enabled telemedicine Ecosystem. The BL Ecosystem solution allows patients to securely receive professional medical care in their homes, at work, in small clinics, or at nursing and assisted living homes. BL Ecosystem partners supply medical peripherals and unique care applications for disease management. BL customers can develop and maintain their unique intellectual property in the BL Ecosystem and bring these unique solutions to market through the BL Ecosystem.

The BL Healthcare Access Terminal is an integrated, easy-to-use, highly interactive system that empowers the patient to take a more proactive role in the management of his or her care plan. The system includes functionality such as HD multi-point video conferencing, multimedia support for educational programs, instant messaging, real-time alerts and notifications, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of vital sign measurement and peripheral medical devices. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company’s entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.

This solution is a result of collaboration fostered at Verizon Wireless’ LTE Innovation Center. The LTE Innovation Center, established in 2008, provides an environment for diverse companies to work together to develop innovative products that leverage 4G LTE technology.

The TCx-I Healthcare Access Terminal will be highlighted in partnership with Ericsson from Jan. 6-9 in Verizon Wireless’ booth (#35216 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center) at CES.
