FRANKLIN, IN — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Franklin that will improve coverage in the town of Bargersville. Johnson County residents will also benefit from enhanced coverage while traveling along the following major roads, including:

  • State Road 135 between County Road 600 North and Division Road;
  • and State Road 144 between Smokey Row Road and County Road North 125 West.

The new cell site, which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless devices for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps and music, exchanging e-mail and text, picture and video messages, watching high-quality videos and making calls.

The company's ongoing network investment in Indiana now totals more than $1.1 billion. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed — $5.7 billion on average every year — to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
