BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Snow may be on the ground, but that hasn’t slowed Verizon Wireless’ network enhancement efforts. The company recently enhanced its 3G network, the largest and most reliable in the nation, in several snow-covered locations.

Whether shoveling snow, sledding with the kids, or staying warm by the fire, Verizon Wireless’ recent network enhancements make downloading apps, browsing the Web, working on the go, or downloading music quick and easy. Last week alone, Verizon Wireless announced new cell sites in:

Customers escaping the snowy weather enjoyed enhanced coverage as well. A temporary Verizon Wireless cell site ensured wireless users didn’t need a mulligan to tweet, surf, call, text or e-mail during last weekend’s golf tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company activated a Cell on Wheels (COW) in the area of the tournament course, enabling thousands of fans to surf the Web, send and receive video and picture messages by text or e-mail, place phone calls, and access their favorite social media sites.

The Verizon Wireless 3G broadband network carries the millions of data sessions for customers using the latest wireless devices, including tablets, laptops and smartphones. Verizon Wireless’ network enhancements are part of the company’s aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the growing demand for voice and data services. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion in its nationwide network since it was formed – $6 billion on average every year.
