EL PASO, TX — Verizon Wireless has completed integrating its network with that of Alltel across El Paso County to provide customers with clearer reception, fewer dropped calls and more coverage, including stronger in-building coverage.

More customers in greater El Paso can now use their wireless devices to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet at broadband speeds; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones — all on the nation's most reliable wireless network.

The network upgrade is part of the company's ongoing investment to keep improving and strengthening the nation's largest and most reliable 3G wireless network.

"People are increasingly relying on their smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices to stay connected," said Brian Danfield, region president, Verizon Wireless.

"Wireless users need a network they can rely on and our customers know they can count on Verizon Wireless. Our ongoing investments in El Paso and throughout the U.S. have kept us ahead of wireless demand and enabled our customers to get the coverage they want and need on the nation's most reliable wireless network."

Each year, Verizon Wireless invests billions of dollars in its network to stay ahead of the growing demand for the company's voice and data services. Verizon Wireless' ongoing network investment now totals more than $375 million in El Paso, Texas and New Mexico and more than $65 billion nationally over the past ten years.
