BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Snow melts, flowers start peeking out of their beds and Verizon Wireless 3G network enhancements keep springing up.

So far this month, Verizon Wireless has announced new cell sites to expand wireless coverage, increase data capacity, and boost network reliability, making working on the go, streaming video and connecting with friends and family quick and easy for its customers.  The latest new cell sites include:

In addition, Verizon Wireless enhanced its network at two popular events this month.  It wasn’t just luck that customers got better coverage in Savannah, Ga. along the St. Patrick’s Day parade route – it was Verizon Wireless, where network improvements enhanced capacity for parade-goers who were talking, texting and sending picture messages.  Enhanced coverage in Austin, Texas was music to the ears of Verizon Wireless customers at the music, film and interactive festival where customers at the show were able to share the sights and sounds, thanks to recent network enhancements.

The company’s 3G broadband network carries data sessions for customers using the latest wireless devices and smartphones, including the new iPhone 4 from Verizon Wireless.  Verizon Wireless’ network enhancements are part of the company’s aggressive annual network capital investment program to stay ahead of the growing demand for voice and data services.  The company has invested more than $65 billion in its nationwide network since it was formed – $6 billion on average every year.
