WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in Emeryville, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Francisco, San Jose and San Mateo are six of 41 Verizon Wireless retail stores nationwide to have received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The LEED certified Communications Stores optimize water and energy use, enhance indoor environmental quality and reduce waste through specifications and responsible procurement and construction practices, including: ENERGY STAR equipment, efficient lighting, efficient HVAC systems, energy management and monitoring systems, low-flow plumbing fixtures, environmentally friendly finishes, recycled content products and construction and operating waste reduction.

The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
