WARREN, NJ — Verizon Wireless, provider of the largest and most reliable 3G network, as well as the fastest and most advanced 4G LTE network in America, has opened its newest “Evolution” Communications Store in Merrick, New York. The official ribbon cutting took place on Friday, May 13, 2011.

The new store, located at 2132 Sunrise Highway, incorporates a new interactive retail design inviting customers to experience wireless voice, data, music and video services in a sleek, full-service environment. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Features of the new store include:

  • 4200 square-feet of retail and customer service space
  • Interactive product and service demos available throughout the store
  • Integrated systems and operational enhancements designed to streamline the sales process and increase customer satisfaction
  • and a check-in kiosk inviting customers to sign in on arrival and stay informed via monitors that track their place in the queue for service.

Staffed by knowledgeable wireless professionals, the new store offers consumers a broad range of services and equipment including the new 4G LTE USB Modems and popular devices such as the DROID Charge by Samsung, DROID Incredible 2 and Thunderbolt by HTC, Motorola Xoom, CASIO G’zOne Commando and the Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot, as well as the Apple iPhone and iPad 1 and 2.

Store manager Steve Seglin encourages area residents to join Verizon Wireless in its efforts to help survivors of domestic violence by bringing no-longer-used wireless phones to the store for donation to the HopeLine® from Verizon phone recycling program. Through HopeLine, Verizon collects used cell phones to be recycled or sold and donates the proceeds in the form of cash grants and pre-paid wireless phones to advocacy groups for use by survivors.

Verizon Wireless was the first wireless carrier in the nation to collect and recycle old cell phones, and has done so on behalf of survivors of domestic violence since January 1999 – first in New York and then across the U.S.

The new Merrick store in Nassau County is one of more than 160 Verizon Wireless retail locations in the New York Metro Region. For a complete list of all Verizon Wireless stores, visit www.verizonwireless.com or call1-800-2 JOIN IN. Follow Verizon Wireless on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
